-
Chimney
The set of components that makes up the smoke extraction system (smoke coupling/flue) for extracting fumes and dispersing them into the atmosphere .
-
Flue The key component of the smoke extraction system, the flue has to be made of suitable materials for the solid fuels used.
-
Chimney pot The terminal element of a flue. The technical features of a chimney pot must be such as to enable the products of combustion to be dispersed into the atmosphere and not deposited in the vicinity of the house.
-
Thermal carrier fluid
The vehicle for conveying heat to its destination, i.e. the heater (hot air outlet or radiator). It can be either air or water.
-
External air intake A hole allowing entry of the air necessary for oxygenating the fireplace and the room in which it is installed.
|
-
Smoke coupling
The coupling between the fireplace and the outside atmosphere.
-
Cladding
The external decorative and structural part of the fireplace.
-
Natural ventilation The natural movement of air by heat convection within the room.
-
Forced ventilation Artificial movement of air caused by a fan.
-
Heating capacity of the firebox The portion of the total heating capacity emitted in relation to the effective heating capacity transferred to the water, calculated with the data shown on the data plate, as a ratio between heating capacity transferred to the water and total heating capacity. The rated heating capacity corresponds to the effective heating capacity.
-
Total heating capacity of the fireboxes in the system
The sum of the individual heating capacity ratings of the fireboxes of the heat generators installed in the system’s water circuit.
-
Total heating capacity emitted or introduced The heating capacity which the fuel delivers to the appliance, i.e. the hourly input mass of fuel multiplied by the low heat value of the fuel.
-
Effective capacity transferred to the water The portion of heating capacity of the firebox that the appliance transfers to the water in appliances with built-in boiler.
-
Effective heating capacity transferred to the room The portion of heating capacity of the firebox that the appliance transfers to the room.
-
Effective heating capacity The sum of the effective capacity transferred to the water and the effective capacity transferred to the room.
-
Maximum permissible water pressure The maximum pressure to which the appliance’s heat exchanger can be exposed for domestic heating with built-in boiler.
-
Maximum system operating pressure The pressure measured at the appliance’s heat exchanger for domestic heating with a built-in boiler during actual operation of the system.
-
Total thermal efficiency The ratio, expressed as a percentage, between effective heating capacity and total heating capacity emitted.
-
Powdered solid fuel Fuel with particle size of 1 mm.
